Wisdom Calls for a Hearing

Proverbs 8 (New Living Translation)

Wisdom Calls for a Hearing
1 Listen as Wisdom calls out!
Hear as understanding raises her voice!
2 On the hilltop along the road,
she takes her stand at the crossroads.
3 By the gates at the entrance to the town,
on the road leading in, she cries aloud,
4 “I call to you, to all of you!
I raise my voice to all people.
5 You simple people, use good judgment.
You foolish people, show some understanding.
6 Listen to me! For I have important things to tell you.
Everything I say is right,
7 for I speak the truth
and detest every kind of deception.
8 My advice is wholesome.
There is nothing devious or crooked in it.
9 My words are plain to anyone with understanding,
clear to those with knowledge.
10 Choose my instruction rather than silver,
and knowledge rather than pure gold.
11 For wisdom is far more valuable than rubies.
Nothing you desire can compare with it.

12 “I, Wisdom, live together with good judgment.
I know where to discover knowledge and discernment.
13 All who fear the Lord will hate evil.
Therefore, I hate pride and arrogance,
corruption and perverse speech.
14 Common sense and success belong to me.
Insight and strength are mine.
15 Because of me, kings reign,
and rulers make just decrees.
16 Rulers lead with my help,
and nobles make righteous judgments.

Warped Perspective

I absolutely do not believe the level of hype surrounding the death of Michael Jackson. Don't get me wrong; I'm sorry he died, but the level of media coverage, even from FOX News, is ridiculous. You would think this guy was a president or head of state, or some philanthropic do-gooder who had been up for canonization. At best, the nicest thing you can say about Jackson was that he was a talented performer. However, would this be someone you would want to hold up as a role model for anyone? His personal lifestyle was unusual, to say the least. And, though we can't know for sure if he was ever guilty of any of the charges of child molestation, and I'm willing to entertain the possibility he was unjustly persecuted, his behavior was totally bizarre pertaining to children. What I can say is that I believe his own children will suffer the effects of his weird behavior for years to come, parading them around in masks, dangling them off balconies, etc., and I'm sorry to say the best thing that he could have done for these kids was to pass away; at least now any money his estate earns might benefit them, as opposed to it being squandered on hyper-baric sleeping chambers, exotic pets, routine plastic surgery and a whole host of other strange and frivolous junk. As a lesson in warped perspective, witness how little coverage Farrah Fawcett's death got in comparison. Here's a celebrity who used her last days on earth to chronicle the personal suffering and agony she went through fighting cancer, in order to bring awareness of the effects of this disease to the public. I guess though that can't compare to having grabbed your crotch while moonwalking, during the process of selling millions of albums to a generation of bubble-gummers.

Calling Out Mark Sanford; resign now!

I was a long time supporter of Mark Sanford. I thought he stood by his convictions and made good decisions based upon constitutional lines. But, just like Bill Clinton's case, morals matter and apparently Mark Sanford lost the bearing on his moral compass.

What is it with these politicians? Do they just get so full of power and of themselves that they think they can get away with stuff? I understand that there is a lot of infidelity out there in our world. I heard some pundit saying yesterday that upwards of 50% of men cheat (no mention of the women who cheat with them, but that is another issue altogether) and I don't know if that is a high or low estimate. But being in the public spotlight ought to make you less likely to cheat, because YOU WILL GET CAUGHT!

Too bad Mark my boy, you certainly screwed this one up because you did not have the intestinal fortitude to face up to what you thought you wanted which was at odds with what you had. You wanted it all, and now you have nothing. Greed for personal gratification. Times up pal, resign now and let the Lt Governor step in for the next 18 months.

Air Force One and Obama One

Looks like Michelle Obama gets her own plane too for flying herself and the girls around the world to go shopping in Paris, visit the Eiffel Tower, Harry Potter movie sets, etc. etc. etc. The Huffington Post (one of the "slobbering love affair with Obama" venues) is more than happy to post countless blogs on the many glamorous activities they participated in. I'm glad they think it is wonderful. I think corporate CEO's are safe now to go back to their scandalous, over extravagant ways of flying around in corporate jets to all the parties and resorts. I think Barack is digging a hole for himself and the argument that these corporate fat cats can't do this sort of stuff when everyone else is struggling. Glad to see the POTUS and his family making sacrifices. When are people going to quit slobbering over these hypocrites and see them for what they are, arrogant snobs. Too many misguided people get outraged over business executives spending money and excited over stars spending money. I guess that is why the Obama's get away with it.

The Audacity of Logic: Honeymoon Over?

The Audacity of Logic: Honeymoon Over?

And now ABC News is weighing in with The Washington Post reporting that support is waning for our POTUS. As usual, they did make it a point to highlight the Republican party woes and lack of support, but they also highlighted Pelosi's lack of, and falling, support. As I have stated before, I think people are getting tired of politicians and politics. We need citizen Congressmen working for their constituents and not the furthering of their political careers. As support continues to decline, I think we will see the elitist politicians become the snivelling cowards they really are when we the people show that we are the ones with the power. The power to elect them and the power to cast them out. Wake up America.

It's Official: We have a Celebrity for a President

This morning on NBC's "Today" program, I happened to catch an exchange between the host and a guest who were discussing, what they referred to as, the "Obama Effect," where-in everything that the Obamas do or buy, or promote even slightly, becomes a huge success, like where they eat or the products they buy, etc. They said he had even surpassed Oprah, in this regard. The host said it was because Obama was truly the first president who was a real "celebrity." He said this with a sense of awe and admiration, like all past presidents were some how failures because they had never reached this stature. How thrilling for us all. I only wish our celebrity-in-chief would take some time out of his busy schedule of product endorsements and solve some of the minor problems we seem to be experiencing, like our economy being in the crapper, near double digit unemployment and rogue nations on the verge of becoming nuclear powers - little things like that.

Here's a link that explains this phenomena:

In Support of AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR NATION'S LEADERSHIP by Janet Contreras

The Audacity of Logic: AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR NATION'S LEADERSHIP by Janet Contreras

I am glad to see in words what so many believe. The politicians better figure out really quickly that people are caring less and less about party and more and more about representation. Most of the discontent has nothing to do with Republican or Democrat, but plain and simple outright widespread irresponsibility. As Janet so plainly summarized, we are coming. And it is up to you , Mr. politician, to decide if we are coming for you.

AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR NATION'S LEADERSHIP by Janet Contreras

This is an open letter to Washington, written by an ordinary citizen who lives in Arizona. It was read on the Glenn Beck show and posted on his site for people to sign. So many people tried to log on, to sign, that it crashed the site. It has now gone viral on the net, and is in the public domain, being posted everywhere with the blessings of the author. Though it is not the most eloquently written letter - I suspect our own Dolly Madison could have done better - it's good enough to get the point across. Feel free to copy it and redistribute it.

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five, universal health care. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why ‑‑ what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band‑Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try ‑‑ please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some non politicians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law.

I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending. From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons. We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

Honeymoon Over?

Obviously not for ABC, the All Barack Channel as I heard it coined (you have to chuckle at that one). They have their all day love fest at the White House coming up and will likely ask the usual non threatening and easy to answer questions in their attempt to help Obama railroad the public with his health care proposal. Fox News never was involved in the love fest, but gets thrown under the bus as a bunch of right wing pundits. The main stream media would like for people to view Fox News as illegitimate, more tabloid like, but I think viewership tells a different story. It has been a game with much of the main stream media that any criticism of Obama or his administration gets you labeled and thrown under the bus with Fox News. But Obama is not perfect, none of us are, and he better learn to take some criticism because it is going to be a long 4 years. Come on, even PETA is digging on the President for killing a fly, and how liberal are they?
But a new poll and report by NBC/WSJ is calling it like they see it and, I believe, close to the way the majority of Americans see it, not the way the liberal media and politicians would like for us to be seeing it. Thank you to NBC for participating in what I would consider an objective report on the President and the administration. Obama is a likable character and it remains obvious that people in general want to like him, but the popularity will soon wane as the peoples disapproval in policy, direction, and state of affairs continues (and it will). Additionally, there will come a time when Obama can no longer count on the get out of jail free (It was Bush's fault) card. The more time that passes, the weaker that play gets. Once the honeymoon is officially declared over, maybe we can get back to doing things the way they are supposed to be done.
The honeymoon may not be over, but the infatuation is dying. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a request to have the marriage annulled once the reality sets in. Otherwise, the divorce may get really ugly.

Health Care & Torte Reform

Is anybody considering the domino effect of government health care? Many business people out there, if given the option to not pay for employees health coverage, will not do so. They can just say "let the government program cover them" and "I'm already paying higher corporate taxes to pay for the government sponsored program anyway..." So the long term costs of the proposed program is going to further bankrupt the government.

Why don't we just reform the system we have now? Can you say Torte reform? If we had limited damages, then the cost of malpractice insurance would drop, the Doctors could charge less for their services, the insurance companies could charge less for coverage and the employers could afford to cover more people with better coverage as a condition of employment. Simple really. So why don't we do it? Because the overwhelming number of attorneys running the government will never limit their own personal ability to take their +20% of the damages awards given by ignorant juries. SIMPLE, but will never happen while we have the current crop of politicians in office

It's the Constitution stupid!

Why is it so hard for people to recognize that the current administration is just stomping all over the constitution? If you have never read it here is a link the Cornell school of Law online version. I keep a printed copy of the USA constitution in my briefcase, and I have been known to pull it out to ask a liberal where in this elegantly simple masterpiece of government does it give the President the right to fire CEO's of private companies, or to put all the health insurance companies flat out of business by orchestrating a Government take over of the health care industry in the USA.

Frankly it makes me sick.

Obama Illegally Fires an Inspector General

You will probably hear nothing about this in the MSM. You also probably won't find any "investigative" reporters from the Washington Post or the NY Times writing Pulitzer Prize winning expose´s on it. You certainly won't hear anyone in Congress calling for a Special Prosecutor to look into it, without any public outcry. But, the fact remains that last Wednesday, an Inspector General, Gerald Walpin, investigating a huge Obama campaign contributor, Sacramento Mayor - and former NBA star - Kevin Johnson's misuse of federal grants by a nonprofit education group that Johnson headed, was illegally fired by Obama. A law that went into effect last year, which Obama himself, at the time, supported, says that before any IG can be terminated the President has to give Congress 30 days notice AND give a viable reason. He did neither. He had the White House call the IG in question last week and demand his resignation or he would be fired. The IG refused to resign. The only "reason" thus far that Obama has given is that he has "lost confidence in him" over his handling of the investigation, which by the way did find irrefutable evidence of fraud. Unfortunately, Obama having "lost confidence" is a conclusion, not a reason, and any attempts thus far to ask what the real reason might be have fallen on deaf ears at the White House. Please read the Fox News articles at the links below, and call your Senators and Congressmen and demand they ask why this has happened.

With some luck, the honeymoon will eventually end and the winds of change may die down some, and possibly shift.

Health Care Reform

Obama has set a deadline to have a plan to fix health care, much like the Iraq war and GITMO closing deadlines (that he had to back pedal on), by August. I am a firm believer that when the government can do something about Medicare to show that they are truly capable, then we can trust them to do something about general health care.

I will tell you the problem. Provide health care and people abuse it. Hence medical expenses go up, people want more health care and the upward spiral is on. People go to the doctor for the sniffles, the doctor (scared of misdiagnosing and getting sued, not that anyone would do that) orders a battery of test to rule out strep, staph, mono, swine flu. etc. and the cost escalate. We are an impatient and abusive society. Look at what our impatience and resultant abuse of fast food have done to our wast lines. You know, that's part of the problem as well, but I'll move on.

It used to be that if you didn't feel too well, you either stayed at home for a day or two, or at least tried to go to work or school, and if you didn't get to feeling any better after a while you went home for the previously mentioned day or two. Gargle salt water for the sore throat, a little Rock and Rye or Bourbon and honey to make things better (like NyQuil, just cheaper), and some rest was usually all it took. After a few days, maybe the doctor was in order if there was no noticeable improvement. Now we believe we need a battery of test, some oft abused antibiotics, and some other feel good medications or we may die from this most serious ailment.

My family got immediately healthier about 5 years ago when I made a decision to switch to a high deductible/major medical type health plan. The rates were so much cheaper that the money I saved each month more than covered my deductible. I would come out way better (financially, mind you) in the event of a major incident, but we would have to pay out of pocket for every little thing up until the 4 figure deductible was met. Gone was that joyous feeling of seeing the doctor for the $10 - $15 copay. And long lost were the $8 scripts ($25 if you had to have the designer stuff). The change was immediate. You have the sniffles, let's see how you feel tomorrow. My stomach hurts, here's a little PB to sooth it.

People, wake up. I am fortunate to be healthy and go to the doctor so infrequently (less than 1 time a year) that when they see me coming they actually are concerned about what might be wrong. And I know that there are people less fortunate and less healthy that need physician care and it is warranted. But there are a lot of you who are addicted to the hopes that the doctor will give you a miracle pill to fix your ills, or just too darn wimpy to deal with a little discomfort for a day or two (read my post from 4/22, cause our weak stomachs are costing us more than health care).

Obama, wake up and quit trying to scare the sheeple. You should not use fear and distress as a tool to further your agenda of shredding the Constitution and extending the governments tentacles into our daily lives. The government ruins everything it touches, turns hope into despair, and has no business trying to prove that it is capable at our continued expense. I am tired of politicians telling me that they have my best interest in mind, I am tired of the federal government digging deeper and deeper into my pockets and my life, and I am tired of YOU, selling your progressive agenda without one ounce of meat for anyone with some logic and intelligence to chew on. You should be ashamed. Your plan does not address the root cause of the problem and has no hope of doing anything positive. Even Newsweek agrees with me (at least for the most part)...

The Audacity of Logic: Criminal Organizations

A good overview of Progressivism in America and where it is headed today...

And the sad thing is...

this was written in 1998 and we all knew it was happening. 10 years later and we have only gotten worse. Our society needs to wake up, take note of the lessons our parents and grandparents tried to teach us, along with the moral ethics, and once again assume responsibility for our families and our actions, being led with some common sense. But alas, he is dead...

Some Interesting Statistics

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics released about three weeks ago, unemployment in April remained twenty percent higher in states won by Obama in last fall's presidential election than in states won by John McCain. Remember though, these statistics are three weeks old, when the overall unemployment rate was only 8.9%. It's now at 9.4%, and I suspect there is probably a higher percentage disparity now than twenty percent. I wonder if this inequity will now convince all the sheep who voted for O'Dummy, and who are now realizing that they just can't sit back and wait for their promised government bailout/welfare, that spending money to "stimulate" the economy doesn't result in prosperity and jobs, only debt.

Click image to see larger view.

I'm hoping this results in a viable possibility that there may be a turnaround in the mid-term elections, if this trend continues. Even sheep can't be duped forever, hopefully.

Criminal Organizations

When first being exposed to Obama during the campaign, I originally held the belief that he was nothing more than an inexperienced front man for the Democrats in power, like Pelosi and Reid, and that in reality he could do nothing more than look nice and deliver a good speech—as long as he had a teleprompter. While I still believe he needs a teleprompter to speak coherently in front of a crowd, I am now convinced he isn’t as inexperienced as I originally thought, and that he has plans other than just following Nancy and Harry’s lead. I believe he was a good student during his time spent as a “community organizer” with ACORN. I also believe he had his baptism of fire while there amidst the Chicago run political machine, where he learned a lot from them also and, of course, both he and Michelle, along with some of the other usual suspects like Hillary and company, are Saul Alinsky protégés, from way back. More importantly, Obama isn’t just a liberal Democrat; he is an early Twentieth Century Progressive. That may sound harmless and innocuous enough, but if you are not familiar with his agenda, you need to get educated quickly. To sum it up, and as Obama himself said in his inaugural speech, he doesn’t intend to re-build America; he intends to “re-make” America.

Some information is slowly leaking out now about the corruption that exists with the ACORN people and the organization itself. There are vast amounts of money being funneled into hundreds of organizations it controls and there is evidence of massive fraud, embezzlement, and organized corruption, most of which is financed with taxpayer monies. ACORN has been likened to an organized criminal operation, and we have yet to see how far up the food chain it goes. But, this whole scenario pales in comparison to what is being perpetrated by Obama and the current administration. If you start to dig deeper into the goings on you see that Obama is circumventing the Constitution at almost every turn, and has already spent trillions of dollars and/or put these vast amounts of money under control of men who answer only to him, thereby negating our system of checks and balances. I’ve heard Barney Frank, as of late, screaming about “Oversight.” Where is the over site in the Obama administration? The system of “Czars”, the takeover of private industry, the illegal issuance of monies to very specific organizations, the plan to cap salaries, the redistribution of wealth that has already started, the concept of “cap and trade,” which will reward a few major companies who put him in power, to the tune of billions, and a whole host of other actions he has undertaken, are all illegal and unconstitutional, but yet he is doing it and getting away with it. I believe there are many back room deals that have already happened that we either know nothing about or are now just seeing the tip of the iceberg so far. Remember, his formative years were spent with the Chicago political machine and with ACORN. I believe his plan is very specific, in that he sees the re-making of this country, much like the president with whom he compares himself; FDR, who was once quoted as saying his plan would incorporate a “New Bill of Rights.” (I didn’t realize there was anything wrong with the old one, unless you have a very disturbing plan indeed) In reality, Obama only has a few goals in mind. What he proposes is a "post-material economy." He would de-emphasize the production of ever-more private goods and services, harnessing the economy to achieve broad social goals. In the process, he sets aside the standard logic of economic progress. Simply put, he will be enacting a government controlled economy, with a simple chain of command; him in command and us in chains.

Elections Have Consequences

"Elections have consequences", I heard a conservative pundit say the other day (sorry I can't remember who). As simple as the statement was, it rang true to me. They do and they have and they are. These consequences are ringing in my ears daily and will effect everyday life for the rest of this country's life, unless a Constitutional Revolution takes place and we start over again. I just wonder if the people that voted for Obama and the Democrats really had this in mind when they pulled that lever on November 4th.

I am not surprised, I am just old enough to remember the country under Carter and this feels just like that. A few days before the election, I saw a bumper sticker that summed up my feelings it read: Obama = Oh Shit.

It's Still Georgie's Fault

George Bush has been out of office since the end of January, but of course everything from the economy to global warming is all his fault... still! Every time you turn around someone in the Obama administration - usually Barry himself- is blaming poor ol' Georgie for something. But, wait, it gets even better. You might have heard that George and Laura have chosen to settle in Dallas, TX, in fact, they live about 10-12 miles from me (no, they haven't stopped by, as of yet). The other day, that anti-war nut Cindy Sheehan picketed near George Bush's house here in Dallas, calling for him to be tried for war crimes, and upset because there is still a war in the Middle East, which of course is his fault too. She does admit that Obama is also responsible, but for some reason, I haven't seen her demonstrate outside the While House yet. In the mean time, I guess poor 'ol George will never lose his appeal to be trashed by the left, and 'beating a dead horse' just isn't in the liberal left's lexicon. Or, maybe it's that these poor liberal loons are just nostalgic. Yeah, that's gotta be it.

Reagan Did It

Finally the dots have been connected and the lines drawn, and leave it to The New York Times to be the one to print it. With their reputation for unbiased reporting it is assured now that the world will have to accept that Ronald Reagan is the root of all blame for our current mess. I wonder how many years we will have to wait after this current administration is gone for someone from the NYT to write an article actually laying some blame on Obama for some of our current and future woes and misdirection? I doubt if I live to be 100 I will have enough years in me to see that. But the media does have a habit of turning their back on people once they have outlived their usefulness. Watch out Big O.

I did find one counter point (I'm sure there are more), but having had to endure managing an operation during implementation of a lot of the Sarbox regulations, I agree with the very last 2 paragraphs completely. It did nothing but make accountants and managers more creative at circumventing the real issues. At the end of the day, the board only wants to see how good and profitable their business units are going to be and it became acceptable to polish the numbers to make them more favorable (i.e. lie about it). So here we are today. If I were a smart fellow I would have seen this coming from miles away. But one look at my 401k will tell you my IQ isn't where it could be. What was going on was wrong and it turns out my little piece of the world wasn't the only ones practicing these dirty deeds. There IS a lot of blame to go around. Follow the greed and irresponsible behavior and that is where the blame should be laid.

Silent or Silenced

The working middle class conservative people of this country, the generally referred to backbone of this country, have become silent, or maybe silenced. The fact that we are too busy working in order to carry the rest of the citizens waiting for their bailout may account for the silence, or maybe our outcry was like that of a cat getting its tail stepped on. There was the expected violent outcry and frantic running around, but eventually the pain turned to numbness and we all returned to our little quiet and steady roles in life. The liberals have it made and they know it. They will always be able to beat their drum more loudly, and longer, and they will always be there, still standing and spouting off long after the dust settles and the conservative has gone back to carrying the rest of the country on its working class shoulders again. 150 days in and the outcry has become a din. The excitement, the frantic running around, has waned. There are still the occasional skirmishes, and of course the old guard (Rush, Hannity, etc) denouncing every move the liberals make, but I am fearful that the common man has left the field of battle. The one soldier we truly need, they have rolled back into their day to day lives watching the events unfold from the sidelines hoping for the best while preparing for the worst. Europe appears to be poised to try to regain their governments from the grips of socialism. I guess we will just have to sit around and wait until the experiment is done. And once again the squeaky wheel will get the grease. Viva la Liberale...

Real change.

I believe the most important thing "We the people" could do for our federal government is get term limits. This would move government service back toward duty vs. a career/a position of entitlement. Yes, term limits have their flaws, but the fed must be changed at the core, and not around the edges. Getting a few more real conservatives into government is a step in the right direction, but this only serves to stem the tide of corruption and big government; it does not solve the issues permanently.

In my opinion, the republican party can be a weapon/tool to fix the problems, but the party and individual republicans are not the answer unto themselves.

The problem may be that on a national level the republicans have no core, no guts, and seem to be more interested in keeping their "job" which has become an entitlement. Many insist they are conservative, and then govern as democrat lite. Folks like Ron Paul and Tom Coburn are on the outside of their own party looking in.

We must rid our government and our nation of career politicians.

Remembering Lewis Grizzard

A great story teller, writer, and comedian. I have really been missing Lewis. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert in the early 90's before he passed away. A few short ones I remember - Naked is not having any clothes on, Nekkid is not have any clothes on and being up to no good, and - Didn't your momma teach you to wash your hands after using the bathroom? No, my momma taught me not to pee on my hands. Bubba n' Earl and UGA (the dog), and Kathy Sue Loudermilk. I have read many of his books. As well as bringing you to tears with laughter, he could also just flat out make you cry. We could really use someone with his wit and ability to put things into perspective right now. The news we read may not be so damn depressing with him putting his Lewis touch on it...

A classic one liner from Jack Mayberry...

I voted for the Democrats because I didn't like the way the Republicans were running the country, which is turning out to be like shooting yourself in the head to stop your headache.

Jay Leno...

If God doesn't destroy Hollywood Boulevard, he owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology.

And Robin Williams...

Ah, yes, divorce, from the latin word meaning to rip out a man's genitals through his wallet.

Snubbing the Queen

Tomorrow is the 65th anniversary of D-Day. Obama and the French are supposed to be marking the occasion at Normandy. However, no one thought to invite Queen Elizabeth, who, by the way, is the only living head of state who actually served in uniform during WWII. I suppose Obama thought she might still be too busy listening to all his speeches, which he gave to her on that IPOD. What a tool.

Living Life Upside Down

There is a song that keeps going through my head, although I haven't heard it on the radio in quite some time, but it seems appropriate for the time we find ourselves. It is sung by an artist, Russ Lee, and I have included a link to a You Tube video for your additional consideration. The chorus rings, "What if we've fallen to the bottom of a well, thinking we've risen to the top of a mountain? What if we are knocking at the gates of Hell, thinking we are Heaven bound?" The song goes on to say, "You are telling me there is a new way of life, that used to be wrong is now right?" Hmmm, does that sound familiar?

I am daily astounded by the rapid destruction of our country and our core values. Let us consider, for a moment, the latest Cult of Personality move by the Teleprompter in Chief:

The Obama Administration has decided that this Independence Day US Embassies across the world should invite the IRANIANS for a cook out. (Now let that sink in for a moment...)

Are we expecting them to bring the fire works? How about the blind folds so they can trot our hostages on TV night after night? You have got to be kidding me? On our most sacred national holiday, to invite Iran to Embassies is ludicrous. Let us not forget that these folks are our sworn enemies and who would destroy us in a millisecond if given the opportunity. Come on over and celebrate the birth of our nation and an overthrow of tyranny - you feel that is a good thing, too, right?

Where is the outrage or even the irony? Does anyone remember watching the news night after night with the days the hostages were held up on the screen? Does any liberal alive realize that history did not start 100 days ago? When will this president, in his arrogance and narcissistic psychosis go too far for the left and their puppets the mainstream media?

The Audacity of Logic: And the punchline is?

As of May 28 the commission chair has decided to table the motion and look at other ways to reduce expenses and find other sources of revenue. Politicians fear the public when the public stands up to them en mass. Stand up and be heard. If you are not happy, you owe it to yourself and your future generations to do something. E-mail the POTUS, and your state senators and representatives. All of the addresses are available with a simple search on the Internet. Let them all know how you feel. I do this fairly often and will continue to let them know in a respectful and well presented way what I am unhappy about. The voice of the voter will not be ignored if it is heard. Stand up and be heard.
